I am a bilingual educator with more than 17,000 hours of one-to-one tutoring experience and have been running my own tutoring practice since 2014. I hold a B.A. in English with Honors, a B.A. in Spanish, and a Master’s in Education. While working in schools across multiple settings, I consistently maintained a dedicated private tutoring practice alongside my classroom roles. My professional experience includes serving as a university writing tutor, an elementary English teacher in Madrid, Spain, a middle school Spanish Immersion teacher in Portland, OR, a high school Spanish teacher, and a long-term substitute in Spanish, English Language Arts, and other subjects. Teaching and tutoring students from elementary through AP and college-level coursework has given me a clear understanding of how academic skills develop and what students are ultimately expected to master independently.
I have always most loved my work as a tutor. With thousands of hours spent working one-on-one, I am skilled at identifying precisely where a student is getting stuck and what adjustments will move them forward. I design sessions around the individual learner, breaking complex material into manageable steps and building mastery through modeling, guided practice, and direct feedback. I align our work closely with core learning strategy goals, while strengthening the foundational skills that support long-term growth. I set high standards, track measurable progress, and create a calm, focused environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges. My goal is steady academic improvement and students who leave sessions more confident, more capable, and more independent in their learning.
