Mindset:
Preparing for the USMLE Step 1 is the cognitive equivalent of training for the Olympics. Years of foundational medical education culminate in a single, high-stakes day of testing that demands peak mental conditioning. To succeed, you must approach your preparation with the discipline of an elite athlete. Mindset:
Preparing for the USMLE Step 1 is the cognitive equivalent of training for the Olympics. Years of foundational medical education culminate in a single, high-stakes day of testing that demands peak mental conditioning. To succeed, you must approach your preparation with the discipline of an elite athlete. My coaching is designed for students who are ready to treat their board prep with that level of intensity, moving beyond passive review into a high-performance training mindset.

Method:
As your coach, I provide the evidence-based strategies necessary to navigate the Step 1 curriculum efficiently. Educational research consistently identifies active recall, spaced repetition, and interleaving as the most effective predictors of USMLE success. My methodology prioritizes high-volume retrieval practice via unique board-style questions, optimized Anki utilization, and the interpersonal synthesis of complex basic science concepts. Together, we will engineer a precision study schedule that audits your current habits, eliminates "passive learning" inefficiencies, and focuses your cognitive load on your highest-yield areas of improvement.

Mission:
Step 1 is a formidable hurdle that carries a significant emotional and psychological burden. The pressure can strain your mental health and personal relationships—I know this because I have lived through the intensity of the process myself. I am here to serve as your strategist, your tutor, and your advocate. My goal is to help you manage the external pressure while maintaining the internal focus required to pass. I am fully invested in your success, and I will be in your corner through every block and every breakthrough.

Debate

I competed as a high school and collegiate debater at the University of Oregon, where I also attended specialized debate training camps. I achieved significant competitive success, including placing 4th in the State during my high school career. My background allows me to help students master research, cross-examination, and persuasive argumentation at both the introductory and advanced levels.

I'm a current 3rd year MD medical student. I recently passed step 1 in winter of 2026. My score report available on request. I have recently started tutoring friends and clients in the USMLE Step 1 exam. I help clients focus on evidence-based strategies to improve their scores. Many of my students have been able to reduce inefficient study time and focus on more high-yield strategies.
