I have been an adjunct instructor at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington for 10 years. In that time, I have taught classes in Social Media, HTML/CSS, Business Web Practices, with a focus on WordPress. My background is in graphic design, which I received a BA in from Portland State University. After learning the basics of HTML on the job, I went back to school to get a Multimedia Professional Certificate from Portland State. My strong design skills have been the foundation of my successful web design projects, allowing me to leverage both my coding and visual design expertise.
I enjoy teaching students the skills they will need to progress in the job market. With WordPress now running 43% of all websites online today, it's a highly desirable skill set. Even after using it for 15 years, I still learn new features daily.
In my design business, I provide an introductory WordPress training session for my clients, giving them the basic skills to update their sites. Contrast that with the 11-week college-level WordPress class I teach at Clark College, where we examine all aspects of WordPress in depth, which still just provides foundational training.
I am also an expert in using InDesign to prepare print documents from posters to books.
