I have spent more than ten years working in education, teaching, and program management across both public and private settings. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching at George Fox University, where I am preparing to become a licensed elementary educator. In addition to my graduate studies, I am an active substitute teacher with ESS and Edustaff, working in a variety of classrooms and grade levels. This experience has strengthened my ability to quickly build rapport with students, adapt to different teaching styles, and create structured, engaging learning environments on short notice.

My teaching background includes leading classes in theater, literacy enrichment, and general education subjects for students ranging from early elementary through high school. In my previous role as Program Manager at Northwest Children’s Theater, I supervised 25 teaching artists, developed curriculum, and supported more than 200 students across Portland-area schools. I have also taught in one-on-one and small-group settings, including private lessons, after-school programs, and individualized instruction for learners with diverse needs. My approach is patient, relationship-driven, and centered on meeting each student where they are. I believe that learning should feel accessible, confidence-building, and even enjoyable.

Whether I am supporting a struggling reader, helping a student strengthen executive functioning skills, or guiding a learner through foundational math concepts, I always prioritize clarity, encouragement, and consistent communication with families. My goal as a tutor is to help students grow not only in skill but in self-belief, and to make sure they have the tools they need to thrive long after our sessions end.
