Warm greetings! My name is Adam. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Master of Urban Planning degree. I have been in my profession for 25 years, and in that time, I have gained experience as a tutor and lecturer. I am especially energized to be part of students' learning and development that meets them where they are at and helps them see their best selves in their world down to their community.
My teaching journey actually started as an advanced math tutor for 4th grade students! The three years I tutored 4th graders was a rewarding experience that sparked my interest in instructing students at the collegiate level who study government and public administration and need to further their writing and communication skills. In the past two years I have had the opportunity to engage college students as guest lecturer in an urban planning program explaining principals of public administration and governmental processes at the federal, state, and local levels. I place a high emphasis on the ability to synthesize highly technical information and relate it to a diverse range of audiences in a clear manner using a variety of communication tools. This is one of my developed professional skills that I also make part of my approach in the tutoring space.
I believe in empowering students to use organizing tools that work for them in order to proactively and flexibly manage their workloads. I am committed to establishing clear communications between myself, the student, and their support structures from the start so that expectations are understood and students receive the best support I can provide. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have and to schedule a lesson!
