My passion for teaching art to children has always been a part of my life. As a tutor, I ensure that students feel welcome immediately when we enter the meeting place whether virtually or in-person. My approaches include utilizing adaptive teaching methods, having a student-led learning environment, and focusing on verbal and visual communications. I gained experience with different teaching methods techniques, such as having students make presentations to others. It was fun to create and maintain functioning virtual art galleries at both schools for students to share their art works with others.
I have 15 years of experience in Chula Vista Elementary School District. Prior to teaching, I attended a nationally accredited credential program at Cal State Fullerton. More recently, I obtained my supplementary art credential. I assigned content monitors to assist with maintaining safe learning environments. Lessons were based in National Core and CA Arts Standards and our own districtwide curriculum. Please let me know the goals you have specific to your subject.
My love for learning remains, whether it be in the full class size, small group or individually. I would embrace the opportunity to interact virtually or in person.
