Since 2022, Emily has been tutoring students in a variety of subjects, including K-12 math, language arts, SAT/ACT prep, and art topics including digital painting, color theory, and drawing. She is passionate about transforming intimidating subjects into engaging, approachable lessons that help students build confidence and connect meaningfully with challenging material.
Emily enjoys providing explanations and educational tools tailored to students' individual learning styles. She understands that a large part of test taking is pattern recognition, and she strives to help all of her students develop this skill.
Before tutoring, Emily spent eight years as a professional nanny, caring for children from infancy through age 13. Emily also homeschooled her own two children for 2nd and 5th grades, adding to her experience as an educator.
In addition to being a skilled educator, Emily is also a multi-talented painter and digital artist. When not tutoring, Emily enjoys drawing and painting, creating 2D short animations, watching movies, running, and spending time at the beach with her husband, two children, and their dogs Stitch and Coco.
