With over a decade of experience in education, I specialize in working with students who are capable but struggling to follow through including executive functioning challenges, frustration with school, and learning differences. Many of the students I work with feel overwhelmed, avoid tasks, or have difficulty organizing and completing their work, even when they understand the material.

I am a licensed teacher and trained educational therapist with a degree in English from University of California, Berkeley. I hold an Advanced Practitioner’s Certificate in Educational Therapy from UC Riverside and spent two years as a Clinician with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, where I worked with students using research-based approaches to reading and comprehension.

My work focuses on two core areas:
• Executive functioning and school engagement (organization, time management, task initiation, and follow-through across all subjects)
• Reading comprehension and writing (helping students understand, engage with, and express ideas from text)

I also draw on my background in literacy instruction to support students who need help strengthening reading skills, though my primary focus is on students who have basic reading ability and need support with comprehension, writing, or academic follow-through.

My sessions are structured but flexible, depending on the student. Some need direct skill-building; others need help managing frustration, breaking tasks down, and building momentum. My goal is not just to get through assignments, but to help students become more independent and capable over time.

I’ve worked with students from elementary through college in special education, general education, and private settings, and I collaborate with families to make sure support is practical and aligned with what’s actually happening at school and at home.

ADHD

ADHD

I have over 10 years of experience working with students with ADHD as a paraeducator, teacher, and tutor. I help students develop focus, improve study skills, and manage executive function challenges like organization and time management. My approach is tailored to each student’s needs, incorporating strategies to build confidence and independence. I also understand IEPs and accommodations and can support students in advocating for the tools they need to succeed.
Executive Functioning

Executive Functioning

I have over 10 years of experience supporting students with executive functioning challenges in both special education and general education settings, including work in SEL-focused classrooms. I am a trained and credentialed educational therapist, with extensive experience helping students develop skills related to organization, task initiation, emotional regulation, and follow-through. I regularly work with students with ADHD and learning differences who struggle with overwhelm and inconsistent engagement. In my roles as a paraprofessional and educational therapist, I provide in-the-moment support to help students break down assignments, stay engaged, and build practical habits that promote greater independence over time. I also coach students in using simple, structured organizational systems they can begin applying on their own.
Reading

Reading

I have over 15 years of experience supporting students with reading in both special education and general education settings. I focus on helping students who can read but struggle with comprehension, attention, or engagement with text. My work emphasizes understanding meaning, identifying key ideas, and building the ability to think and respond clearly about what they read. I also draw on my training with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes to support students who need additional structure in strengthening their reading skills.
Special Needs

Special Needs

I have over 10 years of experience working in special education as a paraeducator, English teacher, and tutor. I specialize in supporting students with learning differences, including ADHD, dyslexia, executive functioning challenges, and mild to severe needs. I help students navigate schoolwork, develop stronger study strategies, and build confidence in their abilities. I’m also familiar with IEPs and accommodations, and I work with students and families to create learning approaches tailored to their unique needs.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I have over 15 years of experience helping students build effective study habits in both special education and general education settings. I work with students who struggle with organization, time management, and completing assignments, even when they understand the material. I also help students develop practical systems they can use independently across classes and over time.
