With over a decade of experience in education, I specialize in working with students who are capable but struggling to follow through including executive functioning challenges, frustration with school, and learning differences. Many of the students I work with feel overwhelmed, avoid tasks, or have difficulty organizing and completing their work, even when they understand the material.
I am a licensed teacher and trained educational therapist with a degree in English from University of California, Berkeley. I hold an Advanced Practitioner’s Certificate in Educational Therapy from UC Riverside and spent two years as a Clinician with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, where I worked with students using research-based approaches to reading and comprehension.
My work focuses on two core areas:
• Executive functioning and school engagement (organization, time management, task initiation, and follow-through across all subjects)
• Reading comprehension and writing (helping students understand, engage with, and express ideas from text)
I also draw on my background in literacy instruction to support students who need help strengthening reading skills, though my primary focus is on students who have basic reading ability and need support with comprehension, writing, or academic follow-through.
My sessions are structured but flexible, depending on the student. Some need direct skill-building; others need help managing frustration, breaking tasks down, and building momentum. My goal is not just to get through assignments, but to help students become more independent and capable over time.
I’ve worked with students from elementary through college in special education, general education, and private settings, and I collaborate with families to make sure support is practical and aligned with what’s actually happening at school and at home.
