Hello! My name is Jasmine, and I am a surgical resident at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), currently completing a dedicated research year. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Washington State University in 2024, after completing my undergraduate degree at Washington State University in 2016, where I majored in Neuroscience and minored in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology.
Having personally navigated the medical school and residency application processes, I understand how valuable meaningful mentorship and guidance can be. A supportive mentor can provide not only practical advice, but also encouragement and perspective during what can otherwise feel like an overwhelming process. I am passionate about helping students navigate their own academic and professional journeys, regardless of where they are starting.
I enjoy working with students at all stages—from high school and college students exploring whether a career in medicine may be right for them, to pre-medical students preparing competitive medical school applications, to medical students interested in pursuing a career in surgery.
In addition to my medical training, I have been tutoring math and science since 2011. I genuinely enjoy helping students understand challenging material, develop effective study strategies, and, most importantly, gain confidence in their abilities.
Whether you are exploring a career in medicine, preparing for an important application, or working toward your goals in medical school, I would be excited to support you as both a tutor and mentor. My goal is to provide individualized guidance that helps each student feel more prepared, confident, and capable of reaching their goals.
