I graduated high school with an honors diploma in 2022, and am currently a Junior at Portland State University in the honors department with a 3.86 GPA. I am 19 years old and did a year of college while in High School through college credit classes, completed my Associates of Art Degree at a Community College, and am now pursuing a Psychology Bachelors of Science Degree at Portland State University. I do not have much proper teaching/tutoring experience, but I felt as though I am fit for the job because I have taught friends a lot, maintained good grades, have a lot of patience, and would often get asked by teachers to help struggling students in math and English courses.
I want to obtain a tutoring job because I realized how rewarding it is to help students who strive to succeed from my informal teaching experience. Friends and other students would always thank me, and that feeling I get when I know I am able to help others is why I want to tutor more. Another reason why I want a tutoring job is because I have natural talent in academics and beyond aptitude, have put in a lot of hard work and effort into my schooling, so I believe that a tutoring job would be a good way to use those talents I have developed over my academic career. Additionally, I am a psychology major, therefore helping people who want help is what I desire to do with my life, so a tutoring job is both fulfilling and beneficial to my future.
