I am a certified teacher who has been employed in public and private school settings for over 30 years. Much of it has been as a substitute teacher. Substitute teaching has offered me variety, exposure to across the board curriculum and children from K-12th grades in all types of settings including, but not limited to: open/closed classrooms; large/small/individual groups; special needs; Title 1 reading. I prefer teaching small/individuals over large groups.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked with autistic children in public school settings in and out of the regular classroom settings. I have had workshops for teaching autistic students.
I have cooked in my home from scratch since I was nine years old. I have also worked in commercial kitchens with food prep, baking and serving. I have also held an Oregon food Handler's license.
I am an Oregon certified teacher who has a reading endorsement. My training included diagnosing and teaching students with dyslexia. I have worked in Special Education and Title 1 Reading programs as a substitute teacher for over 30 years.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I hold a Basic Oregon teaching certificate for K-9 all subjects; Reading endorsement. My original certificate was issued in 1979. I taught 2nd grade for two full years. I then worked as an instructional assistant interpreting for the hearing impaired for five years. Now for over 30 years I have substitute taught all subject areas in area schools.
I was employed as a tutor/interpreter for deaf and hearing impaired students for five years in a public school. I also have worked with other hearing impaired students as a substitute teacher. I have had past experience with testing and cleaning hearing aids. My father was hearing impaired and wore a hearing aid.
I hold an Oregon Basic Teaching Certificate K-9 With a Reading Endorsement. I have experience teaching Elementary,Special Education, and Title 1 experience in public and private school settings.
I have sewing experience and have been sewing since I was about 10 years old. I am familiar with fabrics, colors, patterns and design. I have sewn dresses, pants, crafts, simple curtains, appliques, and zippers. I recently learned how to re-upholster seats to wooden chairs. Yes, I can teach the basics.
I worked as an instructional assistant for five years interpreting and tutoring two hearing impaired students.
I have taught for over 35 years as a substitute teacher in public and private schools and much of my teaching has been in Special Education. I have an Oregon teaching license and am qualified to teach all subjects K-9. I also have a Reading Endorsement.
