I am a Biochemistry student and have completed the general chemistry, 300-level organic chemistry (with a passing score on the ACS exam), and physics sequences, as well as extensive coursework in biology. Additionally, I have taken courses in engineering statics, engineering programming with MATLAB, and have completed Calculus I, II, and IV (Vector Calculus).
I worked as a tutor during my previous year at Clackamas Community College, where I tutored students in chemistry, biology, various levels of math, physics, and engineering statics. Since then, I have continued to tutor independently with several students and frequently help friends and classmates with challenging material.
At CCC, we generally practiced a student-guided tutoring method, but shifted to a tutor-led approach when students needed help with foundational concepts rather than with specific assignments or problems.
I have strong laboratory experience in chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, and physics labs, which has given me a hands-on understanding of how taught material connects to practical applications.
I have faced challenges during my academic career with perfectionism-OCD and ADHD, but these experiences have helped to strengthen my self-discipline while deepening my empathy for students who struggle with focus, confidence, and time management. I bring that developed understanding to my tutoring sessions and work to help students develop effective study and learning strategies of their own.
