I hold both a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Education from Eastern Oregon University. With roughly four years of experience, I’ve taught and tutored a range of math subjects at the middle and high school levels. My teaching repertoire includes Middle School Math, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus, and I’ve worked in a variety of educational settings, from public and alternative schools to one-on-one tutoring. While I don’t teach advanced math subjects in a classroom setting, I am available to tutor college students in advanced areas, including Calculus II and III, Probability and Statistics, Differential Equations, Proof Writing, Abstract Algebra, and Advanced Calculus.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in research-backed methods that emphasize a conceptual understanding of math over rote memorization or isolated procedures. Studies show that visual strategies can make abstract concepts more accessible, so I integrate these approaches whenever possible. However, my experience has taught me that every student learns differently; thus, it is essential to adapt to the individual’s needs.
