I have a Bachelor's in Mathematics with a minor in Analytical Finance from Gonzaga University.

I have been tutoring high school students in all levels of math for nine years. My experience ranges from working one-on-one with students in quiet and focused environments to rotating through groups of students studying various topics all in one big room. I have done both paid and volunteer work helping students in my community with math. No matter the environment, I bring a positive attitude and a great excitement for sharing my favorite topic with others!

My experience includes mostly Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry, and Calculus (differential and integral). I have a thorough grasp on the concepts covered in these courses, so I am able to break it down for students and explain each step, in different ways when needed, to build their confidence and understanding of the subject.

I am enthusiastic about math, and although I know that many do not share my enthusiasm, I believe that learning from someone who is excited about their field makes a positive difference in learning outcomes.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have nine years of experience tutoring in Algebra 1 in my local community. I have taught students in an alternative school, high school, and accelerated courses. I enjoy introducing working with variables, graphing linear equations, factoring, and exponents. I think algebra is an incredibly important subject to master whether it is used to build on in future math classes, or simply to practice skills like attention to detail and executing logical processes.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have nine years of experience tutoring students in my community. Most of those years I have covered Algebra 2. I also supported a local teacher in preparing and presenting material for Algebra 2 at the local high school. It is one of my favorite subjects because we get to build on what was learned in Algebra 1 and expand students' mathematical horizons. Some of the most important topics that I work with students on are solving systems of equations, solving and graphing quadratic functions, and beginning logarithmic and exponential functions.
Calculus

Calculus

I majored in math in college and Calculus was one of my favorite areas of math! I love the new interactions with functions and graphs that students see for the first time in this course. I have spent several years helping students in my community with derivatives, integrals, and the applications of those topics.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have done a lot of tutoring in Precalculus in my community over the last several years. I have also assisted the high school teacher with course prep and questions. I know that a strong mathematical foundation is needed in order to approach the topics of logarithms, modeling with functions, matrices, and the array of trigonometry concepts covered in this class. It is my priority to work with students to establish and build upon this foundation.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Trigonometry was one of my favorite subjects in high school. While getting my undergraduate degree, I utilized the trig concepts of sine and cosine functions, identities, and radian angle measure. I have tutored in this subject in my community for years, and have helped the local high school teacher with class prep and questions.
