I have taught high school mathematics for 15 years and I have extensive tutoring experience with middle school and high school subjects ranging from SAT Prep, Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus. I am very easy to get along with and my students feel at ease while I am tutoring. I enjoy helping students and boosting their confidence, and providing them with the tools to excel on their own.

I also am very passionate about music. I have played piano since I was a young child and started making music compositions at an early age. I write music just about every day using a MIDI keyboard together with computer software. If you are interested in songwriting, I would love to assist you in your process!

I have a Masters from the University of Maryland and a BS Mathematics from Indiana University Bloomington.

I am sensitive to students' diverse learning styles. I have used manipulatives in the past and visual aids. I have taught many students over the years with a variety of learning needs. I understand how to guide the student with math concepts and show the student how to achieve on their own, as opposed to just spoon feeding answers. It is not enough to just complete an assignment - I ensure that my students obtain mastery of the mathematical concepts.

I have taken piano lessons for many years and in doing so I have gained a good foundation in music theory. I also play bass and guitar. I have collaborated with many musicians over the years and I am very good at communicating musical ideas. I am experienced using the following software: Garageband, Ableton, and Logic Pro. Not only do I compose musical compositions of many genres, I also understand how to record a composition. If you are already a songwriter, I can give advise on how to improve or create a polished recording. If you are interested in songwriting but you are just getting started, I can guide you in the right direction. I can give you many ideas about how to compose a song as well as record it.
