My name is Ciera, and I have two bachelor's of science degrees from Oregon State University, one in fisheries and wildlife science and the second in psychology. I specialized in animal behavior (specifically mammals) and have an extensive background in ecology, biology, wildlife science, animal behavior, psychology and zoology. In addition to the two degrees, I was a peer advisor for nearly three years and am familiar with communicating with students in regards to study habits, homework assignments, grading scales among other issues. I am a firm believer that critical thinking and understanding the basics of a topic will always lead to success. I prefer to work with a student on assignments and go through critical thinking questions (often the ones listed in textbooks). However, I don't simply guide a student, I ask questions to promote further learning and thinking about a topic. I want the student to leave a tutoring session feeling like they have a thorough understanding and could immediately be tested upon the material covered and pass. I have a strong passion about nature, wildlife, and the environment, and I want students to be successful in any field that involves these topics.
