Hello all! My name is Marisa. I have graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from Rogue Community College in 2025. As of now, I am currently attending ASU online to achieve my Bachelor's in Art by Spring 2027. Outside of school, I have been a practicing artist for a little over 10 years. I have participated in the local Josephine County Art Fair and won 2nd place in my category. I also recently participated in the artist collaboration of the public art piece, "Nature Encroaching on an old 1914 Orchestrion (2024)." This piece is currently on display in the Grants Pass Welcome Center.
I have been tutoring since I was in high school. Most of my experience comes from tutoring as a member of the National Honor Society. I have also done private tutoring for generalized subjects. Additionally, I have worked as a Paraprofessional aide and have interacted with many students of varying ages. I base my tutoring lessons on 3 primary factors: the student's strengths, the student's weaknesses, and the student's learning style. For a student's first lesson, I will spend time getting to know them to ensure their session will result in success based on their goals.
The first lesson primarily serves as getting to know the student, establishing end goals, and making a game plan to meet these goals. In the event that the student can only attend one lesson, this first lesson will ensure they are left with tools for success outside of tutoring. After that, each additional lesson will build upon the discussed lesson plan until end goals are met. I tailor my lessons to help refine any weakness in the subject, build upon the strengths in the subject, and to fit the student's personal learning style. I always check in with the student to ensure they feel they are getting what they need from the lesson.
Cancellation policy: Online student's minimum notice of 1 hr. For in-person students 2 hrs. Further notice preferred when possible.
