I have been tutoring math and science for 6+ years. I starting by working in a tutoring center for two years at a community college in the town where I attended undergrad. I also was a private tutor for my undergraduate institution and where my specialty was calculus and chemistry. I was a teaching assistant for the astronomy department at my undergrad and a teaching fellow for the physics department. I am currently in a physics PhD program where I am a teaching assistant; as a teaching assistant, I grade homework, lead lab sessions, and hold office hours where I can help students. Throughout all of these more formal positions, I have tutored privately and have extensive experience.
Beyond all that, I am an energetic, cat-loving vegan physicist! Outside of work and school, I love to run, jam on the piano, and cuddle with my cats.
As a physicist, I use calculus. differential equations and trigonometry on a daily basis. I am extremely comfortable with the concepts, and have experience teaching the concepts, and applying them to physical problems.
I have an undergraduate degree in Math-physics from Whitman College, a Master's in applied physics with a focus in optics from the University of Oregon, and I am working on my PhD in physics from the University or Oregon. Beyond that, I worked as an intern scientist for a year at ThermoFisher scientific, where I use applied physics daily. My education reflects years classes, research, and teaching. I am excited to share what I have learned and am so passionate about with you.
