I gave up my career performing in Los Angeles with Josh Groban, Rihanna, Celine Dion, Katy Perry and many other stars so that I could move to a small town in Oregon and raise my family and focus on teaching! I have taught all ages and all levels from age 3 to age 82, beginner to advanced. I am a creative teacher and I like to keep things very positive and fun. I can also share some stories of my days on the road touring with Josh Groban, Rod Stewart, Ben Harper, Gnarls Barkley and Kelly Clarkson.
I began violin as a Suzuki student and gradually shifted to a more traditional method of study. I have since received Suzuki teacher training and prefer the Suzuki method for children under the age of 8. I’m delighted to use a more traditional approach for older students. I studied with one of the top teachers in the world, Robert Lipsett, and use many of his techniques in my own teaching.
I can teach you from the very beginning, even before you have purchased a violin. If you are more advanced I can help you get your playing to the next level. We will work hard but we will also have fun. I’m new to Wyzant but very experienced in the world of teaching and I’ve been teaching my own students online since February 2020.
