Physical Science

Physical Science

I am passionate about understanding how our world works at the most basic scientific levels. This understanding has come about through exploration and much deep thought about all of the physical science principles taught in our schools. I have been tutoring elementary through college physical sciences for more than 5 years now, and can't wait to share my passion with more students! I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelors of Science in Integrated Business and Engineering from Lehigh University where I graduated with Highest Honors.
Physics

Physics

A chemical engineer by training, I possess a deep, comprehensive mastery of the multi-faceted concepts encountered throughout an academic physics trajectory. However, I believe that truly learning physics is about far more than just memorizing formulas; it requires understanding and using mathematics as a descriptive language to unpack the natural interactions of our world. While most of us can describe a ball being thrown into the air in English, physics demands that we articulate that same situation in a precise, quantitative, and unambiguous way. This transition from conversational language to mathematical fluency can feel incredibly uncomfortable and downright hard, especially if a student's foundational math skills are shaky. My specialty is stepping into that gap with immense patience, breaking down complex physics systems into their simplest conceptual elements to rapidly build your student's physics problem-solving confidence and analytical skills. I provide physics students with expert, long-term STEM mentorship across high school physics, college physics, and related math, science, and engineering courses based in that physics. Specifically, I tutor Advanced Placement courses like AP Physics 1, 2, and both AP Physics C Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism, alongside high school physics, honors physics, and homeschooled physics curriculums. At the undergraduate level, I mentor both algebra-based and calculus-based general physics sequences, as well as core engineering courses like statics, thermodynamics, and beyond. I also work with physics students who have diverse learning or special needs, tailoring my communication style to ensure every individual finds fulfillment and absolute clarity in the material. My instructional approach is backed by a proven personal track record of academic execution. I scored a perfect 5 on both of my AP Physics C exams and consistently performed within the top 5% of my physics-heavy engineering coursework throughout my Chemical Engineering honors program at Lehigh Univ
Precalculus

Precalculus

As a chemical process engineer by training, I view Precalculus not as a final destination, but as the critical gateway to advanced calculus and engineering mastery. I strive to help students see that this course is where abstract algebra transforms into the foundational model of our physical world. Whether a student is navigating the mechanics of trigonometric functions, logarithms, polynomial behaviors, matrices, or complex vectors, my structured approach focuses on building absolute conceptual clarity before they ever face a calculus curriculum. For more than five years, I have successfully guided students through this pivotal transition year, providing comprehensive mentorship that bridges high school coursework with advanced university expectations. This curriculum continuity is a massive asset for families, allowing me to support a student's long-term academic trajectory across multiple years without them needing to transition to a new tutor. My approach goes far beyond teaching simple formulas or encouraging mindless repetition; I focus on training students to develop the rigorous analytical maturity required for advanced STEM coursework.By drawing on my honors engineering background from Lehigh University and my industry experience at W. L. Gore & Associates, I bring abstract mathematical principles to life through practical, real-world engineering applications. I help students methodically unpack complex problems, build resilient problem-solving grit, and master the structural "why" behind every math framework. This high-level instruction not only secures top marks but also instills the executive agency they need to thrive throughout their academic careers. SAT Math

SAT Math

I have been coaching students through their SAT (and the GRE) for over 5 years now, and I thoroughly enjoy doing so. I know that taking the SAT can be a headache, but preparing for it doesn't have to be. I strive for major score improvements while having a good time doing it! My SAT Score: 1560/1600
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

As an engineering student, I learned how to apply mathematics to solve real world problems. It is an amazing thing to feel that you understand the physical world in terms of the mathematics that prescribe how it works. I strive to help people understand that math is the language of our natural and physical world in hopes that it will help motivate them to want to learn and understand it. Precalculus is where we learn the final tools required to dive into one of the most powerful tools in mathematics, calculus. I have taught precalc (precalculus) and trig (trigonometry) for many years, and pride myself on my ability to find the gaps in a students' understanding of the subject. There are also numerous tricks to understanding and remembering key tools that I have gathered through my years of teaching precalc (precalculus) and trig (trigonometry). I will share these with you to help you ace your precalc (precalculus) and trig (trigonometry) class and exams.

Exactly what my daughter needed

Physics was the one class my daughter was struggling in. Since Justin began tutoring my daughter. her grades have improved drastically. She’s developed a deeper interest in and understanding of physics. Justin explains things really well and makes sure the concepts are understood before moving on. From what I’ve gleaned in passing by listening in on sessions, he’s really good at digging and asking questions to find out exactly where the disconnect or foggy area is- even when my daughter might not know what questions to ask. My kid's sensitive and she thinks Justin’s really great. He never makes her feel embarrassed or on the spot. He keeps the material light and interesting and fun. As a result, my daughter is so confident and stress-free about physics now, it’s just wonderful. The last exam she took, she scored 100% so we couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you, Justin!

Took Me From Failing to Acing Physics

I took lessons with Justin while doing a 6-week accelerated Physics I course in college. After failing my first exam, I was honestly in distress. My professor wasn’t that great and wasn’t always available to answer questions, so I started looking for help. I was a little hesitant about the price at first, but after seeing all the good reviews, I decided to try it and it was absolutely worth it! I ended up having at least ten more lessons with him, all the way through Physics II. I never thought I could truly understand physics when I first started, but Justin is incredibly patient and amazing at explaining concepts clearly. He can cover any topic in physics with total confidence, and he’s great at identifying your weak spots and explaining things in a way that makes everything click. Because of his help, I ended up acing the finals for both of my physics classes. If you’re struggling with physics, this is the only tutor you’ll ever need!
