The most important thing a teacher can do for a student is to inspire the student to WANT to learn. I believe that curiosity is the best teacher. But, even the curious need the right environment!

Lifelong learning is a huge part of my life. When I am learning, I feel fulfilled. At Lehigh University, I studied Chemical Engineering and business and how the two work hand-in-hand in an integrated business and engineering honors program. After graduation, I traveled to Germany to learn about various engineering and business aspects of the German automobile industry. The following school year I studied Technical Entrepreneurship in a Master's of Engineering program, also at Lehigh University.

But, I did not stop learning when I left Lehigh. I still read fanatically about topics ranging from Earth and Space Science to Mathematics and Physiology to Philosophy and Psychology. TEDtalks and podcasts fill my free time. All of this learning has lead to deep conceptual understanding across a broad range of topics. This is what I believe makes me such a good teacher. I can see those connections, or lack thereof, in my students. Filling in those gaps is my purpose.

Above all, I strive to bring my love of learning to my students so that they too can benefit from the powerful inspiration to learn that curiosity provides.

Chemical Engineering, Physics, and Chemistry experience:
I studied Chemical Engineering for 4 years at Lehigh University and practiced it for 3 more years at a leading materials engineering company (W. L. Gore and Associates).

Mathematics experience:
After scoring a 5 on the AP calculus exams (AB and BC), I went on to receive an A in Calculus 3 at Lehigh University and found continued success with higher level engineering math.

Calculus

Calculus

As an engineer, I mastered applying Calculus tools to real-world problems. For more than 5 years, I have taught High School Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, College Calculus 1, College Calculus 2, College Calculus 3, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, and Multivariable Calculus. I strive to help people understand that math is the language of our world in hopes that it will help motivate them to want to learn and understand it. Specifically, calculus is the math that helps us to understand anything that is changing. If you need help with any topics in calculus (limits, L'hopital's rule, derivatives, the chain rule, single integrals, double integrals, triple integrals, sequences, series, or anything in between), look no further!
Chemistry

Chemistry

Need help understanding reactivity, molarity, stoichiometry, or acids and bases? Look no further! My passion for physics helps me understand WHY chemistry works the way that it does. This is what makes me an expert chemistry teacher that can help any student understand what is going on at the atomic/molecular level.
Physical Science

Physical Science

I am passionate about understanding how our world works at the most basic scientific levels. This understanding has come about through exploration and much deep thought about all of the physical science principles taught in our schools. I have been tutoring elementary through college physical sciences for more than 5 years now, and can't wait to share my passion with more students! I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelors of Science in Integrated Business and Engineering from Lehigh University where I graduated with Highest Honors.
Physics

Physics

A chemical engineer by training, I have a vast amount of experience with the various subjects encountered when studying physics in an academic environment. But, learning physics is about more than just the new concepts presented. Physics students are expected to use the language of mathematics to understand and describe various interactions that occur in our natural world. Using math as a language: this is a creative endeavor. We can often very successfully explain in English or another language what happens when one throws a ball into the air. But, what we learn in physics is how to describe this same situation in a quantitative, unambiguous way. This is done using the language of mathematics. This process can be uncomfortable, and downright hard! Especially if math skills are lacking. However, I am confident that with my help, YOUR physics problem solving skills and YOUR math fluency will improve significantly. My mathematical skillset and deep understanding of physics are bolstered by my patience and my ability to communicate complex topics in the simplest way. High school physics and college physics are my specialty. I tutor AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics B, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, High School Physics, Honors Physics, SAT 2 or SAT II Subject Test in Physics, Calculus-based College Physics, Algebra/Trigonometry-based College Physics, General College Physics 1, General College Physics 2, Electromagnetism, and Thermodynamics. I also love to work with homeschooled students and students with special needs! I scored a 5 on my AP Physics C: Mechanics and AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism Exams. I consistently performed within the top 5% of my physics based courses throughout my Chemical Engineering college degree program.
Precalculus

Precalculus

As an engineering student, I learned how to apply mathematics to solve real world problems. It is an amazing thing to feel that you understand the physical world in terms of the mathematics that prescribe how it works. I strive to help people understand that math is the language of our natural and physical world in hopes that it will help motivate them to want to learn and understand it. Precalculus is where we learn the final tools required to dive into one of the most powerful tools in mathematics, calculus. I have taught precalc (precalculus) and trig (trigonometry) for many years, and pride myself on my ability to find the gaps in a students' understanding of the subject. There are also numerous tricks to understanding and remembering key tools that I have gathered through my years of teaching precalc (precalculus) and trig (trigonometry). I will share these with you to help you ace your precalc (precalculus) and trig (trigonometry) class and exams.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I have been coaching students through their SAT (and the GRE) for over 5 years now, and I thoroughly enjoy doing so. I know that taking the SAT can be a headache, but preparing for it doesn't have to be. I strive for major score improvements while having a good time doing it! My SAT Score: 1560/1600

Exactly what my daughter needed

Physics was the one class my daughter was struggling in. Since Justin began tutoring my daughter. her grades have improved drastically. She’s developed a deeper interest in and understanding of physics. Justin explains things really well and makes sure the concepts are understood before moving on. From what I’ve gleaned in passing by listening in on sessions, he’s really good at digging and asking questions to find out exactly where the disconnect or foggy area is- even when my daughter might not know what questions to ask. My kid's sensitive and she thinks Justin’s really great. He never makes her feel embarrassed or on the spot. He keeps the material light and interesting and fun. As a result, my daughter is so confident and stress-free about physics now, it’s just wonderful. The last exam she took, she scored 100% so we couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you, Justin!

Fantastic Physics & Calculus Tutor - Highly Recommend!

Justin has been an incredible support for my son this year in both AP Physics and AP Calculus. From the very beginning, he built a strong connection that made learning feel approachable and even enjoyable. His ability to break down complex concepts and explain them in a clear, relatable way has made a huge difference in my son’s confidence and understanding. It’s rare to find someone who can teach at such a high level while still being so personable and encouraging

Very entertaining along with helping

He kept me very engaged the whole time and made sure I understood every part of what he was saying! He would explain with a problem and try to help you figure it out on your own! I understand prefixes and how they go along with SI units so much better now. I will definitely see this tutor again and I 100% recommend!

Best tutor I’ve ever had!! Turned my F into a B!

Justin was by far the best tutor I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I failed Physics 2 the semester before and sought his help when retaking it the following semester. This class is known as the biggest weed-out class at my college for engineers, as I knew three people who failed it three times and were removed from their major. Justin helped me so much with my homework, weekly quizzes, and exams every week that I significantly improved. Justin is not a passive tutor and explains things exceptionally well, much better than my teachers did. He makes me solve problems and encourages me to ask questions without feeling stupid. I did so much better this semester, getting a B in the class and an 80 on the final. I owe a lot of my success to him, and 10/10 recommend him to everyone else.

Encouraging and Stellar Physics Tutor

Justin came recommended to us by a friend who helped her son, and considering that her son was taking college classes, we decided to give lessons with Justin for my sophomore a shot. My son had good grades but wanted to solidify his foundation in Physics because he was considering pursuing advanced physics and math in college. Justin always maintained a positive tone during sessions by commending my son's math proficiency, which was very encouraging considering he had never worked with a tutor before. These lessons helped cement confusing conceptual ideas across topics like energy, motion, and gravity. One session, when Justin highlighted how conservation problems were similar to and different from energy problems, it created an "aha" moment for my son. Justin's lessons took the tediousness out of physics and made the subject quite enjoyable. The clearing of concepts, improved ability to notice subtleties across topics, and solving of advanced problem sets was reflected in his score improvement on tests and quizzes, where he converted a B to an A in just 4 sessions. From a parent's perspective, I truly liked reading the detailed lesson summary that Justin provided after every lesson. I appreciated that he was organized with lesson plans and always on time. He provided extra problem sets for my son to practice after the lesson, which was tremendously helpful. It definitely made me feel like the lessons were worth it because my objective was for my son to not spend too much time trying to figure out difficult topics on his own. With 9 rigorous AP classes on his schedule and demanding extracurriculars and sports, time was his most valuable commodity. Whether you are student looking to strengthen your understanding of Physics like my son, or struggling to understand concepts, or just looking to improve your grade, I would suggest you try Justin's tutoring session. As a college professor and parent, I give him our highest recommendation! Aparna, Texas
