On of my best childhood memories is raiding my father's library in the middle of the night in search of the next book, the next story and world to enter, full of excitement. That library full of literature in Spanish and English travelled with us between South and Central America, and the United States. I had the gift of books, and cultures to explore, and I decided to major in Literature when I realized I could study what I love. In my junior year of College, I commuted into Chicago to teach Spanish and ESL at the Berlitz Language Institute. I discovered a lifetime love for teaching languages, and I have tutored and taught individuals and groups of all ages in charter and public schools, at a community college, and privately in California, Alaska, and Oregon. Although I wrote in personal journals since I was a child, I discovered my passion for writing when I took my first creative writing class 8 years ago. I write short stories, nonfiction, and am mostly focused on a novel. Also, I read lots of books, because I love stories, and I am obsessed with learning how to write.
I am a native speaker from Argentina, and I have been teaching Spanish to students of all ages for over 15 years. I have also worked as a Translator and Interpreter, and have excellent reading and writing skills in Spanish.
I am certified and am passionate about teaching ESL, literature, and Creative writing. I have a B.A. in Literature, and I have completed 1 1/2 years of an MFA in Creative Writing program. Currently I am writing my first novel (multi-lingual).
If you want to contact me for more information, feel free to email me with your questions. I value getting to know each student, building trust and communication, and discovering how each student learns. I create each class for individual students or groups, and listen to needs, interests, and dreams. It is important to schedule an initial class, before committing to a four week session, in order to decide if we are a good match. Thank you!
