I am an experienced university level instructor and tutor with a strong academic background and several years of teaching in both the United States and the Netherlands. I hold two Master’s degrees: an MSc in Political Science (International Relations major, Comparative Politics minor) from the University of Oregon and an MSc in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam. My academic training included extensive coursework in history, political systems, global development, research methods, and analytical writing, all of which directly support my ability to tutor AP History, World History, and social science subjects.
At the University of Oregon, I worked as a Graduate Employee supporting undergraduate courses in political science, international relations, and academic writing. I graded large volumes of essays, taught research and argumentation skills, and provided one on one academic support to students ranging from first year undergraduates to seniors. My teaching emphasized clarity, structured reasoning, and confidence building skills essential for success in AP level coursework.
Before that, I spent three years as an Academic Tutor and Instructor in the International Studies program at Leiden University in the Netherlands. I led 4–6 classes per term, often with up to 50 students, and taught interdisciplinary material spanning history, politics, culture, and regional studies. I also provided individualized tutoring, delivered lectures, and supported students in developing strong analytical and writing skills.
My teaching style is calm, organized, and student centered. I break complex ideas into clear steps, use real world examples to deepen understanding, and give detailed feedback that helps students improve quickly. I have experience teaching high school and university students in both classroom and one on one settings, and I enjoy helping learners build confidence in subjects they once found challenging.
