My name is Trenton, and I hold a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Oregon State University and a Master of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from Colorado State University. For more than three years, I have worked as a professional tutor at a community college, supporting students in both lecture and laboratory courses. During this time, I have provided one-on-one tutoring, facilitated group study sessions, and delivered supplemental instruction for courses including General Biology, General Chemistry, Cellular Biology, and related life science subjects. I also have served as a course embedded tutor, where I was in the classroom aiding with lessons, assignments, and ensuring overall understanding across the students in class.

My approach to tutoring is centered on student engagement and active learning. I encourage students to take an active role in discussions, ask questions freely, and work through concepts collaboratively. When needed, I re-teach challenging material using alternative explanations and real-world examples to help students build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter. I also emphasize effective study strategies tailored to biology and chemistry, helping students strengthen both their content knowledge and their ability to think critically about scientific concepts. Above all, I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and developing the skills necessary for long-term academic success.
