I have 12+ years teaching experience in both classrooms (from kindergarten through college) and private music lessons from ages 3-63 in composition, music theory, music technology, and flute performance. I have also prepared students for music history and theory testing in high school and college, helped students apply and successfully be admitted to university for music, and tutored students through undergraduate and graduate level courses at many different institutions.

I am very passionate about music (hence me having so many degrees in it), but the most rewarding thing to me about having this knowledge is to share it with others. Every student should be able to learn and share the joy of music and I see it as my responsibility to find a way to help reach the student’s goal in a way that is best for them; busy always remembering to foster the love and fun that music can bring along the way.

Subjects I currently teach are: Flute Lessons; Composition Lessons; Songwriting Lessons; Music Technology; Producing; Music Theory Tutoring; Music History Tutoring; Application Assistance; and Ensemble Coaching.

I am a current PhD candidate in Music Composition with a concurrent MA in Music Theory at the University of Oregon. I hold a dual Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition and Flute Performance with a Minor in Music History from the University of the Pacific and a Master of Music in Composition from University of Oregon. My works for large and small chamber ensemble and vocal works have been performed internationally and my performance skills hyper focus on premiering new music, with premiering 200+ works throughout my career, but I was trained and still have a successful performance background in classical music. I also transcribe many pop and folk works and incorporate those and many other styles of music within my lesson materials.
