Sixteen years ago, I left a career in cancer research to become a Biology teacher, and I have not regretted that decision for even a second! I love helping students learn the intricacies of the life sciences. I have worked hard these years to find many ways to make this exciting subject understandable to all students, and to help them achieve their personal and educational goals. Whether it’s to pass a required class in school or to prepare for a standardized test, or simply to enhance your understanding of Biology, I know I can accommodate your learning needs. I believe in making sure that the student actually understands the material, rather than memorizing facts, and I have mastered how to teach the concepts in many different ways. I will teach the concepts through traditional notes and textbooks, if needed, but also animations and analogies, and art and performance, and more. I am well versed in standardized text prep, including AP Biology, IB Biology, and the SAT Subject Test in Biology.

I have also taught General Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Biotechnology, and more and can tutor students in these subjects, as well, using my same multi-modal approach. Finally, I have many years of professional experience working in laboratory research. As a published researcher, I can guide students in designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, making scientific analyses of their data, and writing formal lab reports, including for the IA for IB Biology.
