Hello! My name is Vivienne and I have been a Tutor for the past 2 and a half years. I tutored at my university, where I tutored Calculus 1. After 3 semesters of just being a tutor, I was able to advance my position to be a Lead Tutor, which is just basically a tutor and a supervisor who has to manage around 9 other tutors.
While being a Tutor and Lead Tutor, I was able to receive CRLA Level 1 and Level 2 certifications and earn my International Tutor Training Program Certification. To the best ability, I have tutored over 100 hours. During my final semester of college, I also was an undergraduate teaching assistant for a Genetics class held at my university.
Personally, I like to ask the student what they need help with the most and go from there. I am a very relaxed tutor and will take the time to explain anything to you. I also do ask a lot of questions to make sure that you are understanding what I am saying, which might be annoying, but I want to make sure that you have the material down before moving on. I also like to have some fun in my tutoring sessions because it does make the session more fun and then some happy memories with the subject I am tutoring you in.
While I typically have only tutored high school kids, I have also had experience with students as young as 5th grade, but I cannot promise that I know the material being taught in school today. I also can tutor AP Biology, as I did in high school, and have a B.A in Biology.
