Hi I'm Miriam! I just completed my Master's in Marine Resource Management at Oregon State University. I attended Scripps College for my Bachelor's degree, majoring in Organismal Biology with a minor in Music. I have been a teacher/grader for Kumon (math and reading program) in the past so I have had experience helping explain math concepts from simple addition to factorization and quadratic functions to multiple students.

I want to make learning a fun experience but also productive. After introducing and or teaching the material, I want to make sure the student has lots of time to practice the material on their own. I believe repetition and doing as many problems as possible is key.

Having been a teacher for Kumon, I had lots of experience teaching students Algebra 1 and 2 concepts. I have taken math classes up through Calculus I and Statistics. I believe repetition is key to success.

I have taken Spanish throughout high school and some Spanish courses in college. I would consider myself as being of an intermediate to upper intermediate ability.

I have been playing violin since I was four years old. I was classically trained through the Suzuki method. I have taught violin in the past and can help with audition excerpts or just basic skills. I have also taken two music theory classes in college so I can help with that as well.
