My tutoring methods are twofold: understanding and efficiency. I like to share useful tricks and techniques and help students critically think about concepts through discussion. I believe that being able to visualize and understand concepts, rather than just memorization, is key to problem solving.
I am passionate about STEM education and making sure every student has the opportunity to succeed.
I now have over 5 years of experience tutoring: College Algebra (Algebra I/II), Precalculus, Trigonometry, Business Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, and General Chemistry. I have extensive laboratory research, writing, and teaching experience so can also guide students through labs or lab reports. I am certified as a Level 2 tutor by the College Reading and Learning Association.

Knowledge and patient tutor!

My son really enjoys working with Sarah- she’s very knowledgeable (teaching him two subjects- chemistry and pre calculus whichever he needs help with that week) patient, nice, reliable and flexible. She really seems to care about my son’s progress and provides updates and suggestions. I would definitely recommended her!

Awesome teacher

She prepared my son so well that he corrected the professor in class (politely). She enriches the material studied and is proactive about future needs. Thank you

Better than my calculus professor!

Sarah really helped me to not only know how to do problems but how to understand them and the notation involved. I would rather have her as my calculus 2 teacher than my actual professor! We did a little review of Calculus 1 & then jumped right into the material for calculus 2. I look forward to more lessons with Sarah— she will definitely make sure you have an understanding of what is going on in math!
