I'm a second-year student in the Honors College at Oregon State University, double majoring in Psychology and Agriculture and Food Business Management. Before college I completed Cambridge A-levels, including pure mathematics and statistics, which gave me a strong foundation in algebra, calculus, and data analysis. My psychology coursework, including classes in human development, has also shaped how I think about the way young people learn.
Most of my tutoring experience comes from three years as a volunteer tutor with Chennai Volunteers in India, where I taught 9th and 10th grade students English and financial literacy. I worked with students in small groups and one on one, and I helped create grammar materials for our sessions. I regularly tracked each student's progress and gave them feedback, which taught me how to spot where someone is stuck and change my approach. I also volunteered at SOS Children's Village, running educational activities for kids that focused on teamwork and creativity.
Since April 2026 I've worked as a student aide at the OSU Child Development Center, a laboratory preschool on campus, where I support teachers and work directly with preschool-aged children in the classroom. Working with such a wide range of ages has taught me patience and the importance of meeting students where they are. I plan to become a child psychologist, and I believe every child deserves a great education no matter how different they are. When I tutor, I focus on building confidence first, because a student who feels capable is much more willing to take on hard material. I'm comfortable tutoring English, math, statistics, financial literacy, and introductory psychology.
