Hi there, I’m Jacob! I graduated summa cum laude from Oregon State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 2022. Hi there, I’m Jacob! I graduated summa cum laude from Oregon State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 2022. After entering the tech industry, I quickly realized that the rise-and-grind culture didn’t suit me. What I truly valued were the experiences I had in college, helping other students as a peer tutor, serving as an undergraduate learning assistant, and leading lab sections of 20–25 students through challenging computer science courses.
In 2025, I returned to OSU to pursue my M.S. in Mathematics Education. I am currently student-teaching at a local high school, where I’ve taught flexibly based on students’ needs. If we’re preparing for a specific test, I focus on targeted content. If we’re exploring new topics, I enjoy creating mini lesson plans that connect mathematics to students’ interests. I always make space for students to share their thinking so we can build on their ideas together.
While I have experience tutoring at the college level, I’ve learned the most from working with high school students with a wide range of mathematical backgrounds. I work primarily with Algebra students, but I am also comfortable supporting students in Precalculus and Calculus. I look forward to meeting you, learning more about your goals, and helping you grow mathematically!
