I am an attorney licensed in two U.S. jurisdictions and a former federal-court staff attorney and judicial law clerk. I graduated magna cum laude and ranked eighth in a class of 278 from a reputable U.S. law school, and I also hold a B.A. in English from a top-20 U.S. university. After two years in private practice, I spent eight years serving as a staff attorney (judicial law clerk) in federal court. My work involved legal research, writing and analysis in the areas of bankruptcy law, contracts, commercial law, civil procedure, secured transactions, evidence, and torts.
I also enjoy following constitutional law and would enjoy helping students with concepts involving the First Amendment, equal protection, levels of scrutiny, or tripartite constitutional structure of government.
I served as a teaching assistant in law school for both Legal Research & Writing and Appellate Advocacy and have given presentations at professional seminars to attorneys on legal writing, briefing, and procedure. As a result, I may be able to offer helpful insights and feedback that can improve an individual's public speaking, advocacy or writing.
I bring my academic and professional experience to one-on-one or group tutoring using a conversational approach. I will work with law students, pre-law undergraduates, paralegal students, and legal professionals (including lawyers) who need clear, practical guidance or insight.
Sessions will focus on live discussion, hypotheticals, step-by-step explanations, or exam strategies, guided by student needs and preferences, rather than heavy reading or rote memorization. And I will strive to tailor each session to your specific goals and learning pace.
Finally, in some cases in which my approach feels especially well-suited to the student, I will consider tutoring in non-legal areas such as English, writing, grammar, reading comprehension, U.S. government (e.g., tripartite constitutional structure or federalism), business law, or public speaking for students.
