I have taught over one thousand students in my twenty-five years as a third grade and fourth grade public school teacher. Students who have been below grade level readers and students with IEP s and organizational needs have thrived with the special attention I have been able to provide. Analyzing a student’s strengths and weaknesses have allowed me to get to know how best to plan for and deliver lessons based on needs.

My students have succeeded in both learning in the classroom and through one to one tutoring opportunities. I specialize in teaching language arts including reading, writing, and vocabulary development as well as providing instruction in English as a Second Language.

Twenty-five years experience teaching grades 3-6 in all elementary subjects. Experience with teaching students with IEPs and 504s. Consistently rated as a Distinguished teacher in number 1 ranked school district in Pennsylvania.

Certified Oregon Professional License.

Graduate courses in the teaching of reading and writing to elementary students. Program specialist certificate in English as a
Second Language.

Designed unique spelling and phonics program to fill in gaps for students who were at risk. Provided sound segmentation, word chunking, and pattern recognition lessons for third grade students.
