I am a recent graduate of Stanford University with an M.S. in Cancer Biology. I also have a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago. I am passionate about writing and science, particularly biology and biological chemistry, and I love sharing this passion with others!

I have six years of tutoring experience during both high school and college in math, chemistry, and biology, as well as in the ACT and SAT math and science sections. I believe that the most important component of tutoring is the ability to understand and adapt to the individual learning styles of different students. I believe that I have developed this skill over the course of my education and tutoring and I find this to be one of the most rewarding parts of every tutoring experience. As a tutor I think that my other biggest strengths are being understanding, patient, and encouraging.

I have always had a strong passion for the sciences and have loved to share my enthusiasm and fascination with these subjects with others! In high school I completed standard level IB chemistry, and higher level IB biology, and scored a 36 on the ACT science section. At the University of Chicago, I completed courses in cell and molecular biology, genetics, developmental biology, physiology, immunology, cancer biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. I have a strong conceptual understanding of the foundations and hierarchies of these subjects and find that I am often able to impart a fascination and understanding of these subjects to my students that helps them to succeed in and to enjoy STEM subjects.
