I hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction and am formally trained in restorative practices by a trainer from the International Institute of Restorative Practices. 12 years of teaching utilizing project-based learning experience across elementary to high school exposed how family dynamics and childhood school experiences shape the way students engage with learning and parents engage with their student.
My doctoral research examined the challenges and successes of using restorative practices as alternatives to exclusionary discipline, leading me to develop a process that transforms family-student communication. Through this work, families and students build social-emotional awareness, accountable communication, and stronger relationships, turning past experiences into tools for resilience and growth.
My approach equips families to navigate current challenges while fostering long-term success in students academically, emotionally, and personally.
