Having spent five years in the classroom, I am now looking to put my experience to use for private remote tutoring. I have a Masters of Education and experience working with groups and individuals on grade level content, writing, study skills, and executive functioning skills. As a teacher, I worked with many middle school and high school students who were below grade level in reading and math and developed individual strategies to help them be successful in their classrooms and fill gaps in their knowledge and skills to enhance their success.
Now as a tutor, I am hoping to go beyond what I was able to do for a large number of students and get to focus on individual needs and success. In your tutoring session, we will identify areas of strength and areas for growth and focus our time on what matters most to you and your academic goals. That may be through improving writing, completing assignments, coaching in study skills or exam prep, identifying strategies for improving executive functioning challenges.
Every learner has different strengths and learning needs, and I aim to use those to enhance success. My strategies for one-on-one tutoring involve getting to know the individual learner and problem solving together to find the appropriate tools and format to make academic gains.
