Hi there! My name is Bagher, and I’m a physics and math tutor with over 7 years of experience helping students build confidence, improve their problem-solving skills, and succeed in their courses. I earned my M.S. in Physics from San Jose State University, where I focused on astrophysics and cosmology. My thesis explored geodesics in black hole spacetimes, and I completed my degree with a GPA of 3.8. I also hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, with a focus in power engineering.
Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide variety of students—from middle schoolers struggling with algebra to college students navigating calculus, electromagnetism, and quantum mechanics. I currently tutor with Varsity Tutors, providing online instruction in both physics and math. In the past, I’ve tutored undergraduates through San Jose State University’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library, and I spent several years tutoring at San Jose City College, where I worked one-on-one with over 300 students and led small-group sessions as a peer leader. I'm also certified by the CRLA (College Reading & Learning Association) and have received multiple Outstanding Leadership Tutor awards.
When I tutor, my priority is making the material feel approachable. I like to break down complex topics into simpler steps and adjust my teaching style to fit each student’s learning needs. I also encourage students to ask questions, explain their reasoning, and develop a deeper understanding of the concepts—not just memorize formulas. Whether you're preparing for a big exam, catching up on assignments, or aiming for top scores in AP or college-level courses, I’m here to help.
Beyond academics, I’m passionate about making science and math engaging and even fun! I’ve had the opportunity to work with students with different learning styles, including those with learning disabilities, and I always aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment.
