I am a recent graduate of Whitman College, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Chemistry. Though I majored in economics, I also completed the pre-med track and was just 6 credits short of a double major in biophysics, biochemistry, and molecular biology. I graduated summa cum laude with a 3.98 GPA, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and received the award for Outstanding Economics Graduate from Whitman. I just took the Dental Admissions Exam (similar to the MCAT), scoring in the 97th percentile, and I plan to begin dental school in 2027. In the meantime, I am excited to tutor science and economics courses.
I have several years of formal tutoring experience through Whitman College’s Academic Resource Center, where I worked as a paid peer tutor from 2022 through 2025. I provided one-on-one tutoring to college students in organic chemistry, biochemistry, calculus, intermediate microeconomics, and intermediate macroeconomics. In this role, I supported students with diverse learning styles and academic goals, helping them build conceptual understanding, problem-solving strategies, and confidence. I also served as a notetaker for genetics and intermediate macroeconomics, which strengthened my ability to distill complex material into clear, accessible explanations.
In addition to tutoring at the college level, I have teaching experience with younger students as a certified sailing instructor, where I taught ages 5-12 in both classroom-style and hands-on learning environments. I also privately tutored middle schoolers in mathematics and beginning cello.
Across all settings, I prioritize patience and structure, with the goal of helping students feel prepared to succeed independently.
