I am a retired (but still licensed) high school physics teacher with 25 years experience. I received a BS in Physics with distinction from Harvey Mudd College, and a Master's in Education from UCLA. I taught all levels of high school physics, including AP Physics C: Mechanics (16 years), AP Physics C: E&M (12 years), AP Physics 1 (10 years), AP Physics 2 (9 years), AP Physics B (3+ years), and IB Physics (2 years). My students averaged high scores on the exams, especially in E&M (most years with a 4+ class average).
I feel comfortable teaching any type of physics covered on the AP exams, including introductory college classes on the same topics. If you also need help with math classes, I was formerly licensed to teach any secondary math courses through calculus, although I never actually taught any. I am something of a mental math enthusiast - while I'm not extremely fast, I am good at getting good approximations to the types of calculations that come up in physics.
I have a working knowledge of Spanish, but I'm slow and awkward.
Outside of class, I am very proud of coaching my teams to two Nevada Science Bowl championships and five NAQT state championships.
