I am a certified educator with more than eight years of classroom teaching experience, over ten years of substitute teaching, and two years of private tutoring. From 2015 to 2021, I taught in the Putnam City Schools District, where I worked with students from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of abilities. I hold degrees in Early Childhood Education, Computer-Aided Design, and Liberal Arts with a minor in Design, and I’ve tutored for Dojo Tutor since 2023. My experience has allowed me to support learners from preschool through high school in reading, writing, math, and creative expression. Whether I’m helping a young child build foundational skills or guiding an older student through study strategies, I focus on building confidence as well as competence.

My approach is student-centered and story-driven. I believe students learn best when lessons feel meaningful and connect to their own life experiences. I incorporate hands-on activities, visuals, and storytelling techniques to make learning both engaging and memorable. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace. I want every student I work with to see themselves as capable, creative, and ready to learn—because when they believe that, progress always follows.

Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I am a certified teacher with over eight years of classroom experience, and for the past five years I’ve also run my own writing-based business as a professional author and marketer. This unique blend allows me to bring both academic expertise and real-world writing experience into my tutoring. I help students discover their own voice through storytelling, creative expression, and practical strategies that make writing less intimidating and more enjoyable. My story-first approach not only strengthens skills, but also builds confidence so students can see themselves as writers.
Drawing

Drawing

From 2004 to 2007, I completed multiple drawing and painting courses as part of my Design degree program, building a strong foundation in line, shading, perspective, and composition. I continue to draw and create artwork to this day, which keeps my skills sharp and allows me to share both technical knowledge and personal creative experience with students. My approach is patient and encouraging, breaking down techniques into manageable steps so that learners can build confidence and find their own style. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your artistic voice, I provide guidance that supports growth and creativity.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified educator with more than eight years of classroom teaching experience, including extensive work with early childhood and elementary-aged students. My background includes both full-time teaching and more than ten years of substitute teaching, which gave me the opportunity to work with children of diverse ages, abilities, and learning needs. I specialize in creating engaging, supportive lessons that build foundational skills in reading, writing, and early math while also encouraging curiosity and confidence. My approach is warm, patient, and story-based, helping young learners connect what they are studying to their everyday experiences.
Graphic Design

Graphic Design

I began studying graphic design as a teenager and earned my Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Design in 2004. I then transferred to the University of Central Oklahoma, where I graduated in 2007 with a Liberal Arts degree and a minor in Design. My studies gave me a strong foundation in both technical tools and creative problem-solving, allowing me to approach design from multiple angles. I enjoy helping students understand design principles, develop their creative eye, and gain confidence using design software to bring their ideas to life.
Theater

Theater

I have been involved in theater for more than two decades, beginning with community theater at age 17. From 2003 to 2009, I performed improvisational theater at the Muskogee Renaissance Festival, where I served as the Town Poet and entertained audiences through interactive storytelling. My background combines traditional stage performance with the unique challenges of live improv, where quick thinking and connection with the audience are essential. I enjoy helping students build confidence, develop stage presence, and discover the joy of bringing characters and stories to life.
