Hi, I am David! I graduated with a BA in Economics in the hopes of helping and teaching people about financial management. However, after taking on tutoring and coaching, I realized that I liked helping people learn in general; I found that my past struggles were a reference for the issues my students faced. As such, I was able to use my past methods for overcoming obstacles to address my students' frustrations. Through this, I found that helping others work through their frustrations was incredibly rewarding, and this has pushed me towards teaching and tutoring.

In high school, I mostly did well, testing 34 on the ACT and 2280 on the SAT, as well as mostly taking AP classes. However, I found out that in college, what I was doing in high school would not suffice. Consequently, my grades in college largely suffered. It was not until I started working that I gradually started to figure out the most important parts of success. Having to set my own schedules and be completely responsible for my own life, I realized that how you prepare beats how intelligent you think you are. Through experience with work, helping others, and working on myself, I have come to better understand how to set up habits that best help each person.

In the world of education, I have 3 years of formal teaching in a one-on-one environment, where I taught math, science, and language arts. The school I taught at was designed for students who did not find public school environments conducive to their learning. As such, I worked with them to find a way to make the learning atmosphere comfortable, efficient, but unique to each person. There, I mainly taught Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus, but also mentored them as people, to encourage positive personalities and the ability to work with others. From students who hated or struggled with math, I was able to bring each student to at least a passing grade, with the overwhelming majority of them achieving at least a B.
