If you are looking for a tutor who understands both mathematics and how students learn mathematics, I would be glad to work with you. I am a fourth-year PhD student in Mathematics Education at Oklahoma State University, where I study secondary mathematics teaching and learning. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Northeastern State University, where I graduated summa cum laude. I have six years of tutoring experience and five years of mathematics teaching experience.

My experience with high school students has focused specifically on SAT Math and ACT Math tutoring. In test-preparation lessons, I begin by asking about your target score and testing timeline. Then, I’ll provide test-question practice, and we will go through it together. During this, I analyze patterns in missed questions, strengthen weak content areas, teach efficient solution methods and pacing, and help you use Desmos on digital tests or a permitted TI-83/84 calculator effectively. I don't simply show you how to reach an answer — I help you understand why a method works, when to use it, and how to avoid repeating the same mistakes.

At the college level, I have taught and worked with students in College Algebra, Mathematical Functions, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and Calculus through classroom instruction, office hours, mathematics labs, one-on-one tutoring, and online learning. Through these experiences, I have learned to recognize where students get stuck and adjust my approach to help them develop a deeper understanding of the mathematics. Whether your goal is to raise your course grade, prepare for an exam, rebuild foundations from an earlier course, or feel less anxious about math, I will tailor our sessions to your specific needs and help you become a more capable, confident, and independent mathematical thinker.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

The ACT rewards speed as much as accuracy, so I focus on both. I help students strengthen algebra, functions, geometry, trigonometry, probability, and data analysis, while also working on question interpretation, efficient solution methods, and pacing. My training in how students actually think through problems means I don't just re-teach a topic — I look for where the reasoning breaks down: a shaky earlier concept, a misread question type, or an inefficient approach that's costing time under pressure. We work on recognizing question types quickly, choosing the fastest reliable method, and deciding which problems to prioritize versus skip and return to. Calculator use (TI-83/84 or similar) is covered as one tool among several — not a substitute for reasoning. Lessons are personalized to the student's target score, timeline, and specific error patterns.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is where memorized procedures from earlier courses often stop being enough, and students need a real understanding of functions to keep up. I work on linear and nonlinear functions, polynomials, rational expressions, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations, sequences, and complex numbers. I pay close attention to how a student is reasoning through a problem, not just whether the final answer is right, so I can find exactly where that reasoning breaks down and choose the explanation or representation that will actually land. I help students see the structures that connect topics — using graphs, tables, and verbal reasoning alongside the algebra.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I am a fourth-year PhD student in Mathematics Education at Oklahoma State University with six years of tutoring experience and five years of mathematics teaching experience. I have taught and supported students in precalculus related topics including functions, trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, polynomial and rational functions, and preparation for calculus. I focus on helping students understand why mathematical methods work rather than simply memorizing procedures, while also showing efficient strategies for solving problems accurately. I will tailor our sessions to your specific needs so you can improve your grade, prepare confidently for exams, strengthen foundational skills, or get ready for calculus.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I specialize in SAT Math preparation, helping students strengthen the mathematical concepts they need while also developing effective test-taking strategies, pacing, and efficient problem-solving methods. Lessons are built around the student's current performance, target score, and timeline. I also teach strategic pacing and the embedded Desmos calculator (or a TI-83/84 for students who prefer one) — knowing when to use it and when reasoning is faster. SAT Math Goal: accurate, efficient, strategic, and confident.
