Hello! My name is Karina. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I graduated from ECU with a Degree in Mathematics. I have always had a passion for working with numbers and helping students understand how math works!
I currently hold a teaching certificate and have been teaching for approximately 8 years. My teaching method is that I like to break concepts down into small steps so that students fully understand each step. This allows my students to not feel so overwhelmed when faced with an intimidating-looking math problem. Then, I provide scaffolding for my students as we work through examples until they are comfortable tackling the problem independently.
Throughout my years of teaching, I have taught middle schoolers and high schoolers. All of my experience has been in a traditional brick-and-mortar school setting with class sizes ranging from 12-24 students at a time. I build good rapport with my students through mutual respect and finding common ground.
I am eager to help as many student as I can build a greater understanding of math and Spanish. Please let me know if you would like some more information. I look forward to working with you.
