I’m Thunder, nice to meetcha! I graduated from The University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. Before that, in high school, I excelled in several major exams, including the ACT (Superscore 33, English score 36), the SAT (1510), the PSAT (1470), and several AP Exams (6 exams passed, including a 5 on US Government and Politics), becoming a National Merit Scholar and earning a full-ride scholarship. Throughout grade school, college, and my time since, I have used my tutoring skills to help many of my peers. In my senior year of high school, for instance, I was a designated Peer Tutor, and I had already been informally serving that role in class starting in middle school, especially in math. My siblings and friends have also regularly relied on me to proofread. I pride myself on my intelligence, kindness, and ability to teach.
I can tutor in many subjects, especially English (including grammar, proofreading, spelling, vocabulary, and reading), standardized tests, math, and government/politics, as stated above. I can also help with Spanish, as I did well in several high school and college classes and have kept up my grasp on the language with regular practice since. Moreover, my college minor enables me to tutor in different areas of philosophy, especially logic and ethics. I can additionally tutor in US history, soccer, and music theory. Finally, I’m capable of and happy to teach any elementary-level subject.
I find a great deal of personal fulfillment in tutoring and teaching. I love helping students learn and gain confidence, and I seek to create a fun, inclusive, engaging, respectful, flexible, and understanding environment; if there’s anything I can do for you to help make that happen, please let me know. I also offer a free consultation meeting! If you would like to schedule or have any comments, questions, or concerns, feel free to reach out. Note: a 24-hour notice is required for cancellations. I’m excited to walk alongside you on your learning journey!
