I started tutoring when I first went to college. It was a feed the children program and they needed help with reading. It was a rewarding experience for me. I went on to obtain 3 degrees, my associates in nursing, my bachelors in nursing and finally a masters in nursing. This was the foundation I use to consider tutoring now after my nursing career.

I have since worked in a program with adults going back to school to obtain their high school diploma. I was not the teacher, but worked when he needed tutoring for students on certain concepts. I worked with a young lady who needed help reading and remembering. I worked with a young lady from Mexico who needed help understanding the English language. I worked with several young ladies who needed help with math and understanding math concepts. I put all of these experiences together and completed a tutor training program. Being able to sound out words. I speak the Kings English. That means the slangs that we hear daily, mispronunciations, and poor word choices are things that can be easily corrected. Practice makes perfect. We need to practice daily good grammar.

I almost changed my college degree from nursing to history. My teachers were absolutely the most wonderful teachers I have ever had. They made me love history. Our history books were novels. I still talk about my classes. I would have to study certain portions of history to teach it, but teaching anything involves study and learning the salient concepts of information. We are asked to understand and give back on tests information that was taught. Teaching students to do well on tests is par
