I have worked in the public school system for thirteen years. I started in 1995 as an Educational Deaf Interpreter. Besides providing communication between student and teacher, it was also my job to teach the deaf student in all subjects. A few years later, I was put into the position of third/fourth grade teacher. At that time I was responsible for teaching twenty students (all subjects), lesson plans and report cards. The following year, I taught eight Special Education students. In addition, I taught sixth grade students sign language for one period. I spent one year as a substitute teacher (K-12). In 2001, I was hired into Indian Education. Among my many duties, tutoring Indian students with their class work was my number one priority. The next school year, I found myself back from where I started, teaching a deaf student. For three more years, I was an Educational Deaf Interpreter for another deaf student.
When I attended college, I took Honors classes. My G.P.A. was 4.0. Even though I did not attend graduate college, I believe all my years of teaching/tutoring makes me very qualified. I also believe the best way to teach/tutor is with an attitude of love, patience, encouragement, and a little fun never hurts!
