Hello from Oklahoma! My name is Conni, & I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR. I attended Graduate School at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where I earned a Master's of Education in Educational Leadership. In the last 12 years I have taught Pre-K, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, Resource, and currently Dyslexia. As a teacher I have spent multiple summers tutoring at summer school, tutoring 2nd grade students after school in reading and math, as well as privately tutoring students during the summer. I don't believe there is a one size fits all in education. Before tutoring I like to visit with families, gather information and understand your child's needs. Then, develop a plan to meet our goals for your child. I like to spend part of the first tutoring session building rapport with the student by talking and playing a quick game. We then move on to an explicit, systematic, multisensory approach to the subject matter we are working on.
After each session I send feedback to parents on what skill we worked on and how their child did. I also give feedback on what your child can continue to practice throughout the week.
