Need to pass a course? Having trouble understanding the material? Want to improve exam scores (AP/ACT/SAT/PSAT/GMAT)? Want to improve vocabulary, writing, or reading? Looking to enter the workforce and want to improve communication skills? Need help learning some of the latest software? I can help with these and more.

Part of your success depends on having access to exactly what you need, right when you need it. I will ensure that you have access to the tools, information, and expertise necessary to achieve your goals and objectives. Together, we will find the approaches, methods, and strategies that work for you to meet the immediate and future needs. We will future proof your success.

I'm a professional writer and editor (18+ years), and educator certified in secondary English (grades 5-12). With a M.Ed. specializing in eLearning Technology and Design, I have first-hand experience with online learning as a student and teacher, and know the challenges for educators and learners. We have many online learning options from which to choose, and we will find what works for you.

As a professional writer , editor and trainer, I've developed technical content, sales and marketing collateral, and teacher-led and online courses. As a teacher, I've taught in and outside the classroom to all ages. I specialize, however, in 5th grade to adults.

NOTES TO ALL STUDENTS
• You must have payment information entered in Wyzant in order to exchange phone numbers and schedule lessons. I will schedule lessons ONLY AFTER you have entered payment details in Wyzant.
• You must provide advanced notice (minimum 12 hours) if you need to work on something specific, such as exam prep, essay revisions, etc. Doing so ensures that I prepare the necessary materials for our lesson and that you get exactly the help you need, right when you need it.

EDITING & PROOFREADING SERVICES (Secondary & University)
I accept in-person and online requests for editing and proofreading. As the tutor, I will provide feedback and guidance (markup of the paper). As the student and writer, you will process the recommended changes. Make sure you allow enough time to make the suggested changes to the paper after I return it to you.

The type of edit determines how soon you receive the edited paper; plan for enough time to make it happen. Light edits and proofreading take the least amount of time. Medium to heavy edits often include suggesting rewrites of the content and major changes; these can take the longest and you should allow enough time for me to provide feedback and for you to process the changes.

NO-SHOWS: A student is considered a no-show at 15 minutes past the original lesson's start time. I will text or message the student at 5 minutes past the lesson start time. If the student does not respond or show for the lesson by 15 minutes past the start time, the lesson is a no-show. I allow one (1) no-show at no charge. The second and third no-shows, and any subsequent no-shows, will be charged to the student. If a student does not show for a scheduled lesson three (3) times in a row, that student's time slot will be released to another student.

CANCELLATIONS: The first cancellation with less than 12 hours notice will not be charged. All subsequent cancelled lessons with less than 12 hours notice will be charged. Please make every effort to notify me as soon as you can so I can make room for urgent lesson requests or scheduling adjustments.

I am extremely pleased with the outcome from my sons lessons with Lisa Her attention to detail and the care she takes to ensure the lessons are meaningful and productive really paid off I rated her lessons high because the usual expectation for a parent when first beginning tutoring is that it will take a couple lessons to see improvement and with Lisa that did not happen. My son got help he could use from the first lesson. Lisa came prepared. She listened to our issues and had a plan right from the beginning and I felt that deserved recognition.

You're very welcome! Thank you so much for the kind feedback. I enjoy helping your daughter better understand what she's reading, and I'm looking forward to our next book and future lessons together. I'll continue providing strategies and tools that work for her, helping to improve confidence.

Lifesaver!

I know Juliann would not have done as well as she has through AP English without Lisa's help. I certainly wasn't able to provide the help she needed! I think she has given her a much better foundation that will help her throughout college and beyond.

Lisa was great! We've only done one session, but looking forward to having her continue to work with my daughter. Lisa has a lot of experience and I'm confident she can help increase my daughter's scores in English and Science

My daughter likes her!

That's a rare commodity... My daughter usually has something to say towards not wanting to attend another class. She's actually doing the homework Lisa gave her and is looking forward to future classes.

Excellent Tutor

Our 10-year-old daughter, who has vision issues, has struggled with reading comprehension and sentence structure. Lisa has helped our child grow in confidence and we're seeing improvement in her writing and grades in those areas. Highly recommended!

Experienced, competent, and approachable tutor

Lisa's approach and tutoring style is one that was very well received by my sixteen year old daughter. In only one session Lisa was able to impress upon my daughter a partnership in learning. We will definitely be booking future sessions for tutoring in HS AP English.
