I’m Rylee! I am currently a student at the University of Oklahoma working toward graduating with my B.S. in Psychology in December 2025. As a current student myself, I recognize the importance of having a good teacher. I often find that my favorite classes are the ones where I can find a connection with the professor and those where the professor makes the material engaging and fun. With this knowledge, I try to bring that same energy into my tutoring. I like to use my time teaching material in different ways (e.g., visually, verbally, with examples) and then applying the material to problems or questions that a student might see in class or on tests. I feel that this approach allows students to learn and integrate information so that they are able to use it in the future.

I have seven months of formal tutoring experience as a volunteer at a local elementary school. As a mentor, I worked weekly and created a relationship with a third grade (around age 8) student during the school year, working on their classwork with them and helping them to understand concepts that they may have found confusing in class. My work with this student was completed in a one-on-one setting. I have also held informal study groups with college-age (late-teens and early 20s) students where we created an interactive environment to help each other learn.

Much of my work in earning my degree involves working with statistics, using SPSS, and writing in-depth research papers. I have been highly successful with these courses, with a cumulative GPA of 3.9, which has made me comfortable working with statistics (both producing statistics from data and interpreting statistics), SPSS, as well as formatting, writing, and reviewing essays/papers.

I want students who work with me to feel like they are comfortable and knowledgeable with the material they have learned. I am easy to reach, and I have a flexible schedule, so please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
