Hi, my name is Dane! My educational background is in Management Information Systems and my professional background is in Data Analysis and Engineering. I write SQL on a daily basis at work and in college I was a Supplemental Instruction Leader. This means I assisted teachers in the classroom and provided tutoring lessons afterword to groups and individually at the college level. It has always been one of my passions to connect with students and introduce them to new concepts until they're familiar enough with them to tackle questions relating to the subject on their own!
The teaching style I prefer usually revolves around writing example problems to demonstrate the concept and allow me to explain it without doing the work for my students. This helps to ensure that when these concepts are encountered on a test or in their daily life, they are comfortable and confident in their ability to assess and solve the challenges presented to them! As a result, it helps if a student brings in a specific problem they need help with solving already so that I can coach them through a relevant example during the lesson.
